Winners for the Northern Region for Best in Mathematics

Congratulations Philips and Ivan!

Thanks to the hard work of SGU’s primary school teachers, two of our rescued street children, Philips and Ivan, won best in a mathematics contest in Northern Uganda. Twelve schools, along with Saving Grace Primary School, took part in the contest for our region. Philips and Ivan will be heading to Uganda’s capital (Kampala) to attend the three day mathematics conference at Uganda’s oldest and biggest University (Makerere University). All regions of the country will be represented at the conference. The guest of honor will be Minister of Education and Sports, Janet Museveni. The conference will start July 15th, when the students will tour the University, a few wildlife parks and visit the Entebbe Airport while setting their sights on higher education.

The cost to send our two students to the conference is $700.00. If you can help Philips and Ivan get to the conference by making a donation of any amount or would like to set up a matching donation pledge, please email us at [email protected] or call 800-655-6821. Thank you!
